Custom enclosure for industrial electronics
The electronics are protected and ventilated for continuous work, with the connectors accessible.
The challenge
Jorton Industrial needed to house a Switch Encoder Isolator in an enclosure that would protect the electronics and allow access to the connectors without dismantling the assembly.
The constraints
Interior space matched to a board already manufactured by Jorton Industrial, openings aligned with the existing connectors and enough heat dissipation for continuous use.
The solution
A two-part enclosure with a guided fit, openings worked out from the real dimensions of the board and integrated mounts to fix the assembly in place.
Custom case for mounting a switch encoder isolator
Project carried out for Jorton Industrial
Design and manufacture of a custom case for mounting an electronic system designed and built by Jorton Industrial, consisting of a Switch Encoder Isolator whose job is to switch between two encoders with fully isolated power and signals. The system allows one of two signal sources (encoders) to be selected towards a single output, guaranteeing electrical isolation between inputs and avoiding interference or signal conflicts.
The case was designed entirely in 3D and printed in ASA, adapted to the functional, thermal and mounting requirements of the electronics. It is made in two parts with details built in for a professional installation:
- Optimised ventilation: it includes a fan grille and openings distributed to keep the air circulating properly.
- Quick fixing: it has mounts for fixing directly to a panel with screws.
- Built-in labelling: the name of each connection and the company logo are built directly into the 3D design, doing away with adhesive labels.
The electronics are mounted on a custom-designed PCB, housed securely in the enclosure and ready for maintenance and quick connection. The internal switching system guarantees galvanic isolation between the two input signals, ensuring compatibility with demanding industrial environments where reliability and signal integrity are essential.
This project is a clear example of technical collaboration focused on customisation, mechanical integration and robustness for industrial use.
