Enclosure compatible with Omron NQ5-TQ010-B
The panel goes back on the machine complete, with a new enclosure, touch panel and front, without changing model or touching the rest of the installation.
The challenge
Cartonajes Levante needed to recover an Omron NQ5-TQ010-B operator panel, the screen from which the machine is run. Omron discontinued the NQ series in 2017 and points customers to later models, but changing the panel is not the same as changing a part: it drags along the configuration and the integration with the rest of the installation.
The constraints
The enclosure had to be a replica compatible with the original, because the panel is recessed into the machine's cabinet and the frame, the cut-out and the fixings have to match the opening already there. Inside goes the customer's electronics, with its connectors spread along the edge and the battery that holds the configuration when the power is cut.
The solution
A two-part enclosure printed in ASA, screwed together. The rear part carries the ventilation slots and a battery access cover printed in resin, held by tabs so that it can be changed without opening the unit. The top frame, which is the only part left in view once fitted, is sanded through progressive grits until smooth. The customer sends in the device and gets it back with a new enclosure and with a new touch panel and overlay as well.
